Top Ten Support Requests

  1. When I try to register the application it says this email address is already in use. The Email address says UNKNOWN and I can't change it.
    This is an error in the program that occurs on some installations where configuration settings in Exchange Server prevent our application from correctly identifying your email address. We have a patch file that corrects this error. Please contact us to have this file sent to you.

  2. When re-installing the application or installing the application on a new PC, the registration wizard says this email address is already in use. The email address specified is correct.
    You already have an account on our servers so there is no need to register again. Cancel the registration wizard, go Tools | Options | SMS Options, in the password field, enter your application password then click  OK/Apply. The application should now work as normal

  3. I've purchased some message credit but it hasn't appeared on my account.
    On rare occasions a slight discrepancy with your credit card details or suspicious activity will trigger our anti-fraud system, preventing our automatic fulfillment system from completing. When this occurs a member of staff inspects the transaction to see if it is fraudulent or not and if everything is OK your account is updated and credit applied. Should a fraudulent transaction be identified then you will be contacted along with the relevant authorities. During business hours we perform our inspections pretty quickly (within an hour), out of office hours it may take a little longer or may not happen until the following working day.

  4. I can't send more than 160 characters per message
    You can only send a maximum of 160 characters per message, we are working on increasing this limit which should be available in the very near future.

  5. Can I get replies back into Outlook
    Not with this version, replies can currently only be directed to a mobile handset.

  6. Security Warning Displayed at startup when running Outlook in Internet MOde (IMO)
    Acknowledge this warning, setting the time out to 1 minute. This message should only appear once.

  7. Security Warning displayed when sending a vCard or vCalendar (Appointment)
    If you run Outlook against an Exchange Server, you can download and install the Outlook Security features Administration package and configure Outlook to surpress these warnings.

  8. German Umlauts or Euro symbol are not received correctly.
    This will be resolved in due course, in the meantime use EUR instead of the Euro symbol.

  9. Messages are not saved in "Sent Items" folder.
    Not implemented yet, will appear in a future release.

  10. Can't create a distribution list bigger than 60 odd members.
    This is a limitation of Outlook/Exchange and not our program, the limit varies from installation to installation. We are currently working on a new application to handle bulk SMS in a better manner. The FAB SMS Addin for Microsoft Outlook will be targeted at remote workforce and small distribution lists.
