How to get the most out of your FAB SMS Addin for Microsoft Outlook.
 |
If you want to send a phone number to a recipient so that they can use it
instantly, enclose the number in double quotes. "01424 777222". Your receipient
will then have the option on their mobile to use the number in the text. |
| |
 |
Want to send more than 160 characters? In the options screen adjust the message
compression slider as desired. This will compress the message so that it is
still readable but with spaces removed or using the text speak dictionary.
Tomorrow become 2morrow, Great becomes gr8 for example. On the extreme setting
vowels and spaces are removed. It's somewhat unusal but can still be read, just. |
| |
 |
Removing duplicates from multiple lists. No problem, send your message as normal
and software on our servers removes any duplicates so only one copy of the
message is sent. |
| |
 |
Preview a message before sending. Once you have composed your message on the
toolbar click the magnifying glass icon to see what your message will look like
before sending. |
| |
 |
Sending the same message over and over again, use a template. Compose your
message as normal then select File | Save As, save your message. Then when you
come to compose a new similar message there is a drop down at the end of the
toolbar that loads your saved template ready for you to send. |
| |
 |
To send a message quickly just type the name of the recipient into the "To"
field rather than searching for the number by pressing the button, eg "Fred Bloggs",
let the program determine what contact record to use. Pressing ALT+K will
resolve the name instantly to verify you've selected the right contact.
