Text 1066 (SMS on Demand)
Text1066.com is a new SMS on Demand service for our local area of Hastings, East Sussex UK. By sending various keywords in a SMS Text Message to 01424 401066 users will be able to get back some required information. The returned SMS Text Message can be informational, such as local Tide Times, Cinema Times, Taxi Numbers, Library opening times, What's on Locally etc or the message can be for fun such as Jokes & One Liners, Fortune Cookie, Chat up Lines, Deep Thoughts and funny quotes or the message can be thought provoking, spiritual or psychic such as a passage from the Bible, one of the Analects of Confucius or the answer to a question from our Crystal Ball1 for example .
Technology Preview
Text1066 is currently operational and available as a technology preview whilst we work on adding lots of content and prepare for a full marketing launch.
How to use/buy
Using Text1066 could not be easier, just Text your required keyword to 01424 401066 and get your response straight back it's that easy.
The system works on a pre-pay basis similar to a pay-as-you-go mobile phone so you'll need to purchase a block of messages in order to receive a response to your phone. Message costs are typically
15p (inc VAT) plus one message at your standard network rate.
In addition for use with our Text1066 service; purchased message blocks can also be used with other FAB SMS products, including the FAB SMS Addin for Microsoft Outlook and our forthcoming "WebSMS" and "SMS Channels" products.
When purchasing a block of messages make sure you set your mobile phone number on your contact details so we know where to send your SMS Text Message response.
Unregistered users can trial the system free of charge, you receive 5 (five) free trial messages before you are prompted purchase a block of messages to continue. Choose any of the keywords below and try it now.

Future developments
In addition to further developing the above keywords we plan to include the following: Tide Times3, Cinema Times, Dirty Jokes, Missing You quotes, What's On locally in Hastings, Currency conversion, Word of the Day, various conversion functions eg Pounds2Kilos In phase two of this project we will be creating a SMS Channel system where content can be sent directly to your mobile rather than you sending a keyword, so you can get a Wisdom Quote or Bible passage sent to you everyday for example. Depending on what response we get we may open the Channels up to other local publishers (we will not disclose your mobile number however), local publishers could include, News & Results from the local football team, a Jobs channel providing SMS alerts for new vacancies in town.
