otherwise your messages may go astray
Q. If I

If you
use the same default email address in Outlook at home and work then yes, otherwise you

Tell us what features you would like to
see in future versions and if we feel they are commercially viable we may
include them in new releases.
Q. I've installed the Addin, I have the
extra buttons in Outlook but I can't send a text message what's
wrong? A.
First make sure you have registered
the Addin with us as per the installation instructions. Next make
sure you have entered the Application Password you registered with
us in Outlook. Click on Tools | Options... Then on the SMS
Options tab enter the password.
Q. I've done all that but it still doesn't
work?
A. Email us at support@fabit.com explaning the
steps you have taking the version of Outlook and Windows you are using and
your email address as shown in Help | About in the
Addin.
Q. No buttons are displayed in the menu yet they were there earlier? A.
You probably have multiple instances of Outlook open. An error with Microsoft's implementation of COM addins causes buttons to be removed from toolbars and menus when another instance of Outlook is open. Close all instances of Outlook go <CTRL>+<ALT>+<DEL> choose task manager, on the processes tab select all listed Outlook.exe and click end process. Restarting Outlook will restore your menu buttons.
Q. Do I get replies to my messages back in Outlook?
A. Yes, but you need a dedicated Geographical UK number, available from us.
Q. How many characters can I send in one message?
A. Currently the limit is 160 characters per message. We
are currently looking at the possibility of raising this to around 3000 or so.
Q. What's the difference between the standard and professional versions? A.
The difference between the two versions is mainly the cost of messaging and multi-user functionality. The standard version has a higher message cost but the software is free, this is really suitable for occassional use when you just need to send an odd text here and there to remote workers or friends & colleagues. The professional version is more suited for high volume users and as a consequence has much lower message cost (from 5.5p per message), each professional user requires a license to use the program with discounts for multiple users. In additional to lower message costs the professional version allows for multiple users on the same sending account and the ability to set the sender ID (the monika that appears across the top of the text message).
Q. Will I need to purchase a new license when you bring out a product update or upgrade?
A. No. You will automatically receive the latest version of the program free of charge for the lifetime of the product. From time to time we will also release complimentary products such as the Web SMS interface, visual SMS and the vCard sender which you will also receive free of charge as part of your Product Assurance Agreement.
Q. Can I use my message credit with other FAB SMS products?
A. Yes and No. Over the coming months we will be releasing complimentary
products such as Web SMS, Visual SMS and The FAB Email/SMS List manager. All of
which you'll be able to use the same messaging account. You won't be able to use
same SMS credit for "Forgot You Not" and "Hey I Love You" the latter of which is
due out later this year.
