Receive SMS Text Messages (Texts) on UK Geographic Numbers
Receiving SMS Text messages on your own dedicated UK Virtual Geographic numbers provides a very cost effective way of mobilising your business. When a SMS Text Message is sent to your geographic number it's converted into an email, sent to script or saved to your online SMS inbox. The geographic number on which you can receive SMS Text Messages is in the form of
<area code><local number>, the same as any British Landline Number.

Why Geographic Numbers?
Previously, the domain of large corporations, receiving SMS text messages has generally been out of the price bracket of most small companies, with the registration of Short Codes costing anywhere up to £800 a month and keywords on shared Short Codes from £50 a month. Being able to communicate with staff, customers or running SMS marketing campaigns, used to be an expensive luxury for most small businesses. Not anymore
 Geographic numbers may look like ordinary UK Landlines and may not have the same appeal as a 07x mobile number or short code to receive SMS but at a tenth of the price and with pretty much the same functionality (unless you're a heavy user) then Geographic numbers make financial sense.

United Kingdom UK Only
Inbound SMS Geographic numbers are designed for the UK market only as a consequence numbers can only receive SMS from UK originating mobiles or services. Messages received from overseas sources are rejected, if you wish to receive SMS from foreign networks and have them converted into email etc you'll need to purchase a Virtual SMS Number or send us a SIM for SIM Hosting.
2-way SMS
When coupled with Web SMS and the multi-faceted FAB SMS Addin for Microsoft Outlook programs that sends SMS Text Messages (Texts) directly from the Web and MS Outlook, your local geographic number can provide 2-way SMS functionality by receiving SMS back into Outlook or into your own online SMS inbox.
Received SMS Messages can also be replied to by following a link on the email you receive which takes you to secure webpage where you enter your response message and send to the originators mobile. A SMS Sending account is required for this facility.
SMS Keywords
Your Geographic number also has the capability to respond to keywords found in the inbound SMS message and react accordingly. Multiple keywords can be created to respond to inbound SMS, forwarding to different departments or persons. Different Autoresponses can also be created providing a very rich and interactive experience for your customers, staff and users. SMS To Email
So what does the email you receive SMS on look like and what information do you see? The infomation you get includes the message of course but you also receive the originators number, the number that it was sent to (in case you have more than one registered Geographic number. The Time the message was sent a unique message ID, UDH information if supplied and our signature with contact information in case of support. For more information click the image below.
How do I Buy?
The Geographic number registration process if very straight forward. Use our search tool to find a local number, a few memorable ones are there. Select any additional services and the email address/URL you want received SMS sent to and complete the shopping cart process. Numbers are provisioned same day and are generally ready for use within a few hours.
